In October there was an energy efficiency competition for the 18 government department headquarter buildings. The competition ran from 1 October and lasted for one month. Department for Work and Pensions has reported the largest reduction in average daily energy consumption between September and October with a 22% reduction. BIS, Home Office, FCO and DECC also made reductions over the month of between 6.6% and 9.4%.
In May 2010 the Prime Minister pledged that the Government would reduce emissions on its estate by 10%. The feeds where updated every 24 hours by departments and we reflected that here in real-time.
